 Anybody else with these issues?

One minor, one not so (to me)

1.) iDrive controller goes slack, and there are no detents on it for a few seconds, then it finally begins to click, when you spin it, instead of being freewheeling

2.) Vent air blows pretty warm, even when temp selector wheel (by the door lock/unlock button) is on cool. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between hot and cool on the vent temp setting wheel. I frequently turn the vents off, if I don't have AC on.

r.e. #2 ... isn't there a Euro/USA climate control setting. Wonder if yours is still at Euro from ED.

I thought it was all mechanical for the vent functionality? Just a combination of the vent temp wheel (by the warning light button/unlock car button) and the vent? I was wondering if my situation was normal. So, do your vents, with A/C turned off, but the temp wheel turned to the blue side, blow cool? Mine feels like it's blowing a lot hotter than the outside temp, and seems very similar to the heat (red) setting.

I will go into the ventillation menus in iDrive (which I have yet to do anything with) to see if there is something there. Thanks for the suggestion! If not, I guess I'm making an appointment. Funny, I don't have the B-pillar rattle that everybody appears to have, but have this, that nobody seems to have.

It will blow HOT on the cool side if the car has been sitting in the sun. It will also only blow the outside air temp if the A/C is not on. Most likely what is happening is that the dash is hot and the air is getting warmed going through the ducts, happens to me in my cars as well. The real test is... run the a/c for a while then turn it off and see if it is blowing hotter than the outside temp... best of luck!

Well, I just did a bit of testing. The rear vents, when set on cool, are far cooler than the almost hot air coming out of the front vents, when they are also set to cool. Looks like mine is broken. It's as if I have it set to heat all the time, only on the front vents. Back vents work fine.

Also, there are no additional settings in iDrive that would effect the temp coming out of the vents. It only lets you regulate how much air is coming out of top/middle/bottom.

No I-drive here but when adjusting the temp wheel it seems to work. Also noted the fan speed changes from max positions with the wheel. I suspect it maybe mixing interior air with exterior air contolled by the temp wheel.
