I was psyched when I picked up my 325 because I wanted to try out the Bluetooth connectivity to my Motorola V710. My car, however, has a problem that the phone option AND the Assist option on the menu are "hyphened-out". I even got the salesman to verify that it wasn't just something I was doing wrong. I'll have to schedule a service appointment now before I even make the first car payment. Anyone else had this problem? |

The phone option having hypens in it means that it hasn't been paired, but the assist thing, I'm not sure of. Good luck with that. Make sure you have the new firmware for your V710.

Hello there,
You dont pair the phone from the navi screec you are supposed to do it with the phone.: Here is a link for the approved (certified) phones that are fully compatible.... This is what i went off of for my 7series and honestly it is great. Sorry dont see your phone there but you might be able to use it. http://www.bmwtransact.com/bmwassist/bluetooth_pdf.pdf but i checked the siteand your phone is there it is enabled with bluetooth this means that you will not have to plug it in you can just leave it in your pocket. Now the way to see if you can use it is to the owners manual packet. In the packet there should be a seperate laminated sheet on one side the is a sticker with numbers. The line that says PK is your passkey number or pin number that you will type in on your phone. After you have found that go to your phone i dont know how your menu is but go to the bluetooth section and click on something near or similar to search for new device. (Now when you are about to press the button to do that turn off your vehicle then turn it back on and after your vehicle is on for about 3-5 seconds immediatley press the button to search or else your phone will not be able to pick the cars signal). On my vehicle it picked it up and said bmw260..... then it said select device? press yes..... then my phone gave me a option to pair with the device then click on yes then it will ask you for a pin or passkey number then type in the number that i told you to find in the owners manual. On your phone it will show pairing with device then look at your navi screen. On the top it should show READING DATA. If that is still there for more than 30 minutes tops then sorry to tell you that your phone will not be able to work with it. If it says PORTABLE PHONE than that means that it is working and give it some time for your phonebook to be updated or uploaded to it. Please let me know how it goes.....
Thanks -Pwned

Make sure you have the new firmware for your V710. | My phone has the correct firmware per BMW. I cannot pair the phone to the car, though, since the bluetooth option in under "phone" which it will not let me select. Same thing for "assist". The Assist works (I can call the help center with it), but none of the option under the menu show up. The only options I can select from the main menu are "BC" and "Config".
BTW, I should mention that mine in a non-iDrive model.
