 Has anyone BOUGHT adaptive steering?

I would have thought by now that people would be raving about their new E90s with the Adaptive Steering that has changed their lives.

I tried it during the test drive and loved it.

So come on you closet AS people, how do you like it????

Active steering takes some getting used to. My E90 doesn't feel like it locks in a curve like my E46 did. A friend of mine got it on his Z4 3.0 and didnt like it at first. The dealership said it takes about 2000 miles to "break in". After that he really liked it. I also don't like how touchy the active steering is when backing up.

Stew, I ordered active steering in my 330i. I attended the auto-cross event (in Toronto) and I loved it on the course but i guess time will tell once i get to use it day-to-day.

If you can wait 'til late August when i get the car, I can give you some detailed opinions!

Active steering isn't currently available on the Z4. How did your friend get it?

I figured that people who loved it would probably not have it yet because of the order/delivery lag...but I gotta know for those that have broken it in how they like it.

EMD: I think I read something to that effect, how the steering doesn't "load up" quite the same in a curve, and that the feeling of gravity in a turn is gone. I'm wondering if that even makes a difference as long as the car isn't in the ditch??

I just picked up my E90 330 SP this weekend at the performance center, I ordered it without active steering because I didn't want to wait. While I was there I had an oportunity to drive a 530 w/active steering.
I thought it was fantastic! we got a chance to run the cars through a road course and the 530 handled beutifully. the cat also had SMG.
I would strongly advise that if you are thinking of not getting active steering or SMG (even though SMG is not offered in the E90) that you drive a vehicle equipt with these options to make your own descison.
i'm sold !!! next time its SMG and active steering for me
