hi i am looking at a used 85 530i. v-8 do they have any major problem's with these v-8 's miles on car is about 90k. hoe often is timing belt or chain replaced. i am new to bmw used cars but not cars. i just gave back my 5 series 06 on a lease. lack of use 6k in 14 month's . was thinking about a 95 325 4 dr...any input would be nice.

Make sure it had the block replaced. If it hasn't- RUN away.

thanks bruce. i seen car today. nice int. body need paint not kept up to bmw standards . motor ran perfect. block i dont know. thanks for the reply. price $4800 without service books or records. think i rather had a higher mileage car with some history. then a beat one.maybe i will look at a 3 series. i live in philly. their alot close by..i miss my 06 525 . just turned in lease...i need a second car.

thanks again bruce. i got carfax for 1 month. its amazing how many were tampered with or have had an accident. it pays to get the carfax. i dont live by it. but when it tell's you car was involved in frontal accident?? you know what to do.that 5 series was is very bad shape imo..
