Good deal on 325 lease NY...? Dealer says so!

OK...my girlfriend has a friend, her husband is the manager at a local BMW dealership, and says he will give me a great deal on a lease for the 06' 325. At first I took his word for it and did not really research too much, but I decided to look into just for peace of mind. The car is pretty basic, here are the details.....

- automatic
- jet black/black leatherette
- heated seats
- satalite radio prep

that's it. I looked on edmunds for the invoice price, priced with the above options and the total came to $30,185 (including destination charge $695), does that sound right? The deal that I was offered was $31,825, for a 36 month lease, 12k/month, with total out of pocket of $4041 (which includes tax, NY fee, deposit, first month payment, and some money down) for $394 /mo. The money factor is .0025 with a 63 residual. Now here is my problem, I don't want to haggle with him too much since it is a friend, but if that number in Edmunds is correct I think I have to. Any advice? Also does anyone know what is going on with that new law that is about to be passed regarding leasing in NY, the fee is supposed to be reduced....is it worth waiting until that is in effect?

From what I've been reading any deal on an E90 is a good deal. They are in high demand.

BMW USA LEASE SPECIAL 399 per month, 325i auto.
Vehicles registered in N.Y.
$399 First Month’s Payment
$1,875 Down Payment
$900 Acquisition Fee
$399 Security Deposit
$3,573 Cash due at signing

I live in NY also and personally I am trying to avoid paying the extra bank fee since the law has been changed it is an extra $900. Looks like the deal you are getting is essentially for the miles, it would be easier to break it down if you have the exact number for the down payment without taxes. Depending where in NY you are located the deal may be a bit better b/c they are not selling the 325i well, everyone seems to be holding out for the XI. Good luck

The price looks good. The dealer's actual invoice price will include additional fees they pay when they buy the car, for advertising & training, so in all it looks like your deal is about $1000 over invoice -- not bad for a hot new model. As the previous poster said, you might get a bit more advice if you can break down the $4,041 out-of-pocket stuff into its individual components.

From what I have read, NY's vicarious liability laws (and therefore, higher bank fees) may soon go the way of the do do. Let's see if that translates to savings, though.

Give us the MSRP... and break down the $4K... especially, how much went towards a cap cost reduction..

My guess is the only break your friend is giving you.. is using the base money factor.. Nothing else looks that great.. But, more details will help..

regards,
kyfdx

The new law? How long do you want to wait, to save $275?
