 Stall

Just landed a 2006 330i. Coming home last night, hit a small pothole. The engine stalled, the service engine soon light came on, and she wouldn't start again. Not a battery problem as it lit up, headlights, windows worked etc. Seems the jar knocked something loose.

It is at the dealership now (Roadside Assist was great!). I will post the results, but not happy Jan.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

They used the wrong hexnut at the dealer, and it melted the distributor. Dealership replaced all in 24 hours and I am back on the road. Seems to be a one off event.

Cheers

Interesting comment - the only place I've heard that phrase before is in Australia - it was used in a Yellow Pages commercial a couple of years back on TV

The mechanics were not in when I picked it up, so still not sure exactly what happened...going by comments on service sheet. It said "melted distributor"....Running fine now.

Lived in Australia...so you got the reference on Jan.

Cheers,

Jim
