I let my wife drive my car.... and....
she drove into a stationary car at a 4 way stop sigh, women drivers..... the witnesses say it was her fault, she was only going 5 miles per hour but apparently she almost took the front bumper off the jalopy she hit 2 questions) 1)the guy she hit contacted me, saying he needs $700 to repair his bumper. Should I ask him for a letter stating he will make no more claims and that he is no physical problems from the accident, and just pay him $700 cash? 2) should I bother fixing my 330i and how much do you reckon it will cost? (see attached pic) | | Reply » I let my wife drive my car.... and.... | My wife doesn't know how to drive a 6 speed manual, and has no desire to learn on my 996

My wife rear ended someone and they filed a bougus medical claim and her insurance has been out the roof since even though it was the other persons fault (mostly) $700 seems alot for a bumper.
As far as fixing your car I would say if it bothers you, otherwise, just wait until she damages it worse

yeah $700 is a lot, they probably padded it, but its still nothing compared to raised premiums from insurance stuff. Apparently this old dude got out his car complaining about his hip blah blah

This is why I bought her a big, Honda Pilot. She's hell on wheels. An archeologist would have a field day researching her movements, as interpreted through nicks, dents, dings, and scratches.
Previously, in a Ford Explorer, she knocked out three tail lamps. Before that, she backed the car THROUGH the garage door. Before that, she backed into and broadsided another car parked in our OWN driveway.
Last week, for eight hourse, I loaned her my current daily driver, and the left front rim returned with road rash. "You want to share anything with me about the car?" I asked the next afternoon.
"No. It's fast."
"How about the left front wheel"
"Oh, that. We were getting yogurt."
I threw a fit. My fit ruined dinner. I'm a shallow person, apparantly.
Until then, I had considered changing my order'd BMR to an automatic. No way. Not now. "Learn to drive a stick, " I suggested (not seriously). "I will," she said.
Once she said, "I do," and it thrilled me.
Now she says, "I will," and it scares me to death.
