Early e46 had a problem (I'm not sure if they ever fixed it?) of the rear fold down seats flexing over bumps and making a leather-on-leather squeeking noise. Do e90's without folding seats come with a fixed metal bulkhead?
Trying to decide on cold weather package or not. Have to have heated seats, but trying to decide if I need folding seats or not. Never used them on my e46, but I'm downsizing from an A8L and figure I might need them ... my wife's a serious pack rat when we take a car trip.

Have heated seats, but no folding rear seat.... I think they have taken care of the squeaky seat though. There would be 40 threads here, on the subject, if not.

Can you tell if you have a solid bulkhead behind the seats or just a rear seat assembly bolted in? I'm trying to find out of folders are built different than non-folders. I highly doubt it but just wondering.

I highly doubt it but just wondering. | Folders are different, they are 2 seperate seats with differnt rears and the pass through, the non/ folders are a one piece seat, with a solid back.
Here is the schematic page with part numbers.... totally different. Compare the standard rear cover seats vs. through loading etc.

I am puzzling over the same issue. I just wonder whether the one without the fold downs has any less flex.

I highly doubt it but just wondering. | Per the product info bulletin sticky at the top of this forum ... there is no difference between folding and non-folding seats except the plastic parts that make them up. Both are made of plastic and attach to a metal frame mounted at four points to the body ... ergo no difference in body stiffness.
