06 Coupe this October

I just finished leaving the dealership 20 minites ago and I was asking him about ordering an 05 coupe and he told me that i could not order a 05 " its too late" but he then said that i could order an 06 COUPE and it will be ready by this "LATE OCTOBER EARLY NOVEMBER" with a 500 dollar diposit. And told him about what i read here and what i read in motor trend that the coupe will be ready september of 06. He said no and that the car with go into production in september 05 and "WILL BE READY HERE FOR YOU TO PICK UP LATE OCTOBER EARLY NOVEMBER". Im inclided to beleave him because he was looking at this stack of papers like a catalog type of thing and where he was getting his info from it said 06 coupe. so what do you guys think. O mean while the clock is ticking on another car that i like in Tennessee. LOL this is a tuff spot I need you guys to help!!!

Yes there will be an '06 coupe but not the redesign, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the new E92 coupe will not be released until fall of 2006 (US) this is from internal BMW documents found here on Bimmerfest. It has not even arrived at dealers in Europe yet, so it will not be here before there. This has been discussed before as you stated. The model year does not signify a change in vehicle, the style code does. Just as an example Audi intoduced the New A4 as a 2005 but also produced the old style as a 2005, the convertible did not get the new model and will be introduced as a 2006.

I believe he was referring to the E46 coupe, which will run until next August. E91 production should begin next September 06 as an 07 model.

I would confirm with him exactly what you made a deposit on.

E91 is the wagon just to make sure no one gets confused and is available in October.... The E92 is the coupe, Fall of 2006

FYI

Based on what I could find out from this board, dealers, bmwna, and a friend who sells bmws, the coupe (E46) will stop production 05/06, convertible (E46) will stop production 08/06.

Now Im guessing, I bet the next generation coupe (non-M) will have a SOP of 06/06 (just a guess).
