It's un-natrual how much I love this car

Now, I post this with the caveat that once there are little ones around, my priorities may change, but as I hand-washed my 5 day old car today because the I'll-just-handle-the-brake-dust rinse turned into the I-know-it's-gonna-rain-tomorrow-but-the-dust-is-killing-me full-blown wash, I realized it is indeed un-natural how much I love this car.

I loved delivery. This is my second car with Davis Automotive, and after all the so-and-so sux posting around here about dealerships, these guys deserve nothing but praise. I noticed a swirl in the paint upon delivery, and this, along with the the water spots that my SA, Jeff Davis, was bothered by UNDER THE HOOD on the intake cowl, were quickly spirited away. 2 hours to deliver a car I already knew everything there was to know (although I acted suprised about the wing mirror power folding). After the every 5-7K new rotors on my e46, THEY stood by the product even when BMWna would not. Jeff stayed after hours to complete the delivery, and would have come to the house if I had asked. I cannot say enough good things about Davis Automotive, in Cleveland. Anyone within driving distance oughta come down here and see what the business is supposed to be like.

I love looking at this car. I'll be the first to admit that as a former e46 owner, this car originally left me cold. I thought that the beginning of the infatuation might have been a product of the gin at the debut meet and greet at Davis, but the more I look ath this car, the better it looks. Strong presence, smooth lines, carefull fit and finish. Even the interior makes sense. Clean, modern, and sleek.

I LOVE driving this car. deceptively quiet and quick, I am waiting for my first kill. Around corners it's sticky as heck, and I have not even really put it through it's paces. I thought the old 330 I had was tight... this thing is riDICulous. No rattles for me, and I am listening. They FINALLY realised that under the hat rack is no place to put a subwoofer, and they are under your butt....thumping gloriously (logic 7 kicks ass) Turn the sound down, step on the gas and there is this whine I can only relate to a boxter I drove once... just gorgeous. I'm at 80mph before I know it, and I can stop when I want to. And those seats are unbelievable... the car holds you in place around corners like nothing I have ever driven.

The hill brake thingy is kinda obtrusive, but I can only think it'll be a problem when I get into something that does not have it, and back into something.

I-drive is just fine, fear not, for those who are expecting one. A little slow sometimes, but no more quirky than windows! All the other bells and whistles work as advertised. But it's about the drive... I could pull the fuses on all the rest of it, and three pedals, four wheels, and 6 speeds is all that this car needs to set it apart from the rest. To heck with labels... it's about looking forward to getting to the garage.

but the friggin MF towel I used to dry her put my first swirl in the metallic black paint!! Off to the detailing corner....

if you scratched out the Davis Automotive and substituted SG for black paint, I'd swear you have been reading my diary.

Good post. I love mine too. It sticks to the road like seagull poop to the grooves in the bottom of your docksiders. Weird having runflats with a 140 wear rating.

You guys make me jealous...

Hopefully I'll get my own E90 in about 3 years after I've worn out my E46 ZHP....

REDMOND, Wash., March 4, 2002 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that the BMW 7 Series, the line of cars introduced last month in the United States, features Microsofts robust, real-time embedded operating system, Windows

CE. This announcement comes shortly after Microsofts Automotive Business Unit launched Windows CE for Automotive v3.5, the newest version of its telematics software platform based on Windows CE, and announced an end-to-end solution to enable the auto industry to cost-effectively implement and maintain advanced automotive telematics.

Siemens VDO Automotive AG, the preferred navigation supplier of BMW, is using the Microsoft® Windows CE operating system in the Control Display, which is part of the innovative BMW iDrive concept. Microsofts technology is available to BMW motorists worldwide, delivering an advanced in-car computing experience.

"When we heard about BMWs telematics vision, we knew the exceptional quality in Microsoft technology would fit hand-in-hand," said Bob McKenzie, general manager of Microsofts Automotive Business Unit. "The iDrive concept is a unique one, and were proud to power the graphical user interface in the Control Display."

The iDrive concept and the Control Display enable easy operation of, and convenient access to, the myriad of features at the drivers disposal, including the navigation, telephone, climate control and entertainment systems. This presents a bold new concept for interaction between the driver and automobile. The BMW 7 Series was launched in Germany in fall 2001. It is now available in North America and will be available in other markets this spring.

This is the first of several related announcements to come from Microsofts Automotive Business Unit.
