Is it just me or do the HID lights tend to vibrate more than your usual car when moving on uneven roads? I am a first time bimmer owner and I am not used to HID lights. Please let me know. Thanks.

I am a first time bimmer owner too. I have noticed that the headlights seem to 'move' more on the E90 than on my old car (Toyota Camry) even when they are NOT in auto mode.

THat's right. even with the auto off, vibration is pretty significant and does bother me a little. The only thing I can think of is that because the eyes are dynamic, they are not completely set and tend to shake. However, I cannot confirm, nor can my dealer. Dealer states auto off will eliminate vibration, but i tried today and the shaking effect is still prominent.

the vibrations you see in non-auto can be contributed to the stiffer suspension of the car. In my old S2000, it had projector HID's that were not auto leveling with a sharp HID cutoff, and one of the stiffest suspensions you can find in a stock car. Every small bump in the road translated into a bump in the lighting level. People always assumed i was high beaming them, and would flash back at me.
that's just my thoughts on it.

All the Xenon's in these E90's have the autoleveling function. This means that the Xenons will adjust to be angled (on a vertical axis) at a certain level. Whether your lights are in auto or normal, the lights still get leveled, so that if you stuff 400pounds of bricks in your boot, your lights don't blind everyone.
The "vibration" on bumpy roads is the Xenon's autoleveling function trying to make sure the lights are always creating the same light arc, and not going higher or lower. I have it on my E90, I had it on my E46 with Xenons.
There is nothing wrong with your car.
