I have just purchased a 2006 325i - without the $800+ Adaptive HID option - but I'd like to have HID (xenon) lights. Anyone know of which aftermarket (if any) kit would work for this model?
Thanks

I ran across this site yesterday http://www.bimmian.com/90
I don't know anything about it but maybe it will help. From the prices it seems fairly cheap but I dunno, I think you may have trouble doing the whole thing for less than $800.

Good luck finding something that will cost less than $800.

Not sure about BMW's but on a Mercedes you have to find an aftetrmarket shop to get into the computer so it will read that it has Xenons. If not the car headlights will flash every once in a while b/c it thinks that something is wrong with the headlights. Xenons use lower voltage. It may not be the same for a BMW but I heard that it is.

I don't know what type of bulb the non-xenon 3 uses, but you could look into www.xenondepot.com I bought a kit from them for my 03 4Runner and it worked perfectly. Only thing I can think of is that I needed to wire it to a battery terminal, so I don't know how that would work for the BMW since the battery is in the background. But they have great customer service and I"m pretty sure they could help with anything you might wonder about.
