Have patience with me, I am confused!
Will a Blue Tooth Phone work in a Canadian E90 without BMW Assist?
I have ordered PP and Nav.
I tried to add BMW Assist after vehicle was orderd but was told it was too late, but salesman indicated Blue Tooth capability coud be added after.
Then I read here that this is true for E46, not E90

My salesrep said it was a factory installed option only... Although I don't know if this will change in the future.

Here in the States BMW Assist is part of the Premium Package. Is it different up North? 
BT is part of the Assist module. No Assist, no BT.

Yes!
It is a separate option.

In Canada, the 2006 300i has the telephone pre-wire standard (option 640). You should be able to add BT to your car. There will be some modules that you need to add, and some labour involved as well.
