Sept. Build vs. now?!?
Hey guys, what are the differences between ordering a 330i now vs. waiting until Sept. for the next build cycle. I heard there might be some exterior color options as well as comfort access. But anything else? also hearing about some software issues, this being looked at and fixed?
Also, I guess SMG is out, why? Coming back at all?
Thanks bmwccc

Thanks bmwccc | You have it covered pretty well.
The colors are: IMO fugly Sonora Deep Green Barrique (metallic red) Mystic blue (my choice)
SMG not for this year at least.
Software updates probably as they're continuing to work on them.
If you order now, with the factories closing during Aug, you'd probably end up with a Sept. car anyways unless the dealer finds one on a ship or VPC somewhere.

After driving the 330i, I came to me that if I have to stick the silly fob into start, why not just have a key to turn.
With comfort access you just get in and push to start. Kind of a no brainer option. If I go with the e90 that is one option I will definatly get.

When I approach my car, I'll frequently be carrying passengers. In that case, even if I had CA, I'd probably use the remote to unlock, since they will often reach their door before I reach mine. 2.) When I'm driving, I don't want to have a big gob of keys in my pocket (it's uncomfortable), so I'd want to put them in the car somewhere. The "key" slot makes an ideal place to store your keys while driving. 3.) If you have CA, I understand you need to plug the remote in occassionally to charge it. Since I would probably obsess on whether I had been charging it enough, I'd probably put it in the slot most of the time anyway just to keep it charged. 4.) BMW's system isn't totally useless without CA - at least now you're only carrying a remote instead of a remote and a key like everyone else (except VW with their switchblade key.)
Maybe for someone who always carrys a purse around it would be worthwhile since you could just keep your keys in there. If it were available right now and cheap (like $100) I'd get it, but I'm happy to pass on it.
