How big is the trunk in E90?

I will be picking up my car in Munich and therefore I would like to plan in advance. My girlfriend and I will have two suitcases of the size:
- 24W x 30L x 10D
- 22W x 30L x 11D

could somebody confirm that the E90 trunk is big enough to accomodate those 2 suitcases next to each other (46" wide, 30" long, 11" deep)? Thank you in advance.

Don't think its possible. I measured from wheel well to wheel well in the interior space and it comes up to about 35". Length wise roughly 37", but bear in mind the back chair slopes back, so you lose alittle on the top part of the trunk space as well. The back part does open up a couple of inches pass the wheel wells though.

Right now its hard to estimate, but its hard to visualise as I don't have bags of that dimension to put it in. Hope this helps.

I see. Thank you for checking. How about putting them on top of each other? Do you think there is enough space of 24x30x21?

I don't think so either. Your topmost clearance is 19" and some change. Some parts are a little crampier and could bring down the height to 17"+.

Here's the complete INNER measurement: See diagram to visualise space.

Backseat to bumper
Length: 32" (top back seat where it slopes to lid), 38" (bottom backseat to bumper)

Width: 36" (inner width bt. wheel wells), 44" (outer trunk space width, pass wheel well. The space is wider but there's a tool space box on the right side that is a couple of inches high and I took that into consideration.

Wheel wheel length on each side of inner trunk is 22" long and 4" wide.

Height: 17+ to 19" high. 17+ because a) wheel wells are a little higher than the rest of the space, b) I have folddown seats handles, and it protrudes down an inch or so as well.

You could try squeezing them in if its not hard case, but will be tough. I suggest you put one of the smaller bags on the rear passenger seat, put a cheap cloth down for protection if you have leather seats..

Nice of you to do all that work, spaceman!

For my '06 330i ED, I travelled with my wife and 10 & 13 y.o. daughters. I used my existing e46 as the litmus test for what I could cram in there, knowing the e90 is a bit bigger, and does not have the HK subs on the rear deck protruding into the trunk. We wound up swapping the kid's suitacse for a large rolling duffle because of trying to fit things in.

We were able to fit:

33" x 22" x 13" Rolling suitcase, soft sided
21" x 25" x 9" Rolling garment bag, soft sided, on top of the above bag in the trunk
29" x 15" x 15" Rolling duffle, soft sided, beside the two above list bags
miscellaneous little bags, backback/pro camera bag (for SLR + 4 lenses and flash), in front of the rolling duffle
10"x14"x12" soft sided coolerabove the battery/tool area
small shopping bags with candy, water, sodas, etc., placed in any cranny I found

Sounds like a lot? It was. I planned pretty well for it, seeing I didn't have the option of having a kid riding with a heavy suitacse in their lap. It was funny bringing all the bags out the the car, and having the valet telling me he didn't think it would all fit.

We have hard cases also, but they would not have worked in the e90. I would recommend taking the two empty bags to the dealership to try out in one of the cars. If you have soft sided cases, that helps too. Lastly, try the duffle idea too. Both our 10 and 13 y.o. shared that bag, with room to spare, for a 2.5 week vacation.

I got the split folding rear seats just for moments like this.
