Woohoo - Picked up my new baby today

Hello everyone,

I havent posted here in what seems like years, since my '01 330ci was almost new. Just had to share. Picked up my E90 330i today. Electric Red, Black leather, 6M, CWP, SP, PP.

They had her in the showroom when i showed up. The salesman grabbed the remote and locked the doors while we were doing the paperwork because too many people were crawling in and out of her.

It was kinda funny, when the salesman was showing me the aspects of the car, he couldnt get the fuel door to open. Talk about a look of panic on the saleman's face! It turned out to be the little "clicking thingy" that pops in and out. They swapped it out with the "thingy" from another car on the lot.

Unfortunately, the weather decided to have an Alabama summer storm on the way home from the dealer (1hr drive), so she's already got water spots.

I was extremely pleased with the deal i got. In north AL, it is a sellers mkt for BMWs, so i expected to not get much off MSRP. I ended up paying MSRP, but they gave me a GREAT trade-in value on my old Ci. '01 330ci with 80k miles. They gave me $17k, which is $2k over the kelley blue book value.

The car is simply gorgeous. It looks 10 times better than i could have imagined. I remember thinking b4 i left home that i would miss my Ci. After 6 hrs, i can already tell that that wont be a problem.

Pics will come soon. The weather and lighting were just too ugly to do the car justice.

Cheers,
DKJ

I hit rain the night I brought the SL500 home, too. It was particularly bad because I had the top down and the one damn thing I hadn't paid attention to during the salesman's hour-long feature demonstration was how to raise and lower the roof. I'm sitting there, in a freshly waxed and spotless brand new convertible, with rain on the verge of pouring (it was already pattering fairly hard) fiddling with buttons while frantically flipping through the user's manual looking for the instructions.

So waterspots could be the least of your worries.

I'm in love with the E90, but I figure my E46 has another two years of useful, relatively repair free life left before I finally retire it.

I had trouble figuring out how to open the fuel door when I first filled up, until I realized how stupid I was.

It wasnt that he didnt know how to open it. The clicky thingy was broken and wouldnt pop back out.

I'll post pics tomorrow night; i dont have the cable for my digicam with me.

On a side note, just to vent, a stupid moron t-boned my boat today with a Seadoo. Im guessing about $1,500 to fix it.

Cheers,
DKJ
