warranty info..
I'm contemplating about a 325i. I heard that due to the runflats, the ride is a little stiff. I was going to chang to aftermarket 18's anyway. Question is, since it's not a "BMW" wheel, would the dealer make any big deal about premature brake wear of any kind. Also, does the aftermarket wheels affect the tire pressure monitoring system?

You say that you have "heard" that a 325 rides hard on 16" runflats that have a 50 sidewall ratio. So you are going to soften up the ride by going to 18" wheels that will require you to install tires with a sidewall ratio of 35 or less. The ride is going to be as hard or even harder. What would make you think that a non OEM wheel would cause premature wear of the brakes? I do not see the connection. BMW uses a direct tire pressure monitor which means there is a monitor inside the wheel. In you non OEM wheels more like than not you will not be able to install the sensor so the monitoring system will be disabled.

Don;t know where you got the impression the runflats make the e90 have a firmer ride. They "tuned" the suspenstion for the firmer sidewalls. You can definitely feel that it is not firm. I'm likely going to modify the suspension to firm it up a bit.

Runflats ride stiffer than non, but the smaller sidewall of the "18 will give you more of a harsher ride, plus most 18" performance tires will have a fairly stiff side wall.

Not that this is a bad thing.
You have driven both cars so you may have more of a long term driving impression of the ride difference between the two cars.
It would be interesting to do a comparison between the e46 and e90, of course both cars would need to be new so you would have to use a e46 coupe and the e90 sedan for the comparison.

Not that this is a bad thing. | I wish it were a little firmer on the e90. I'm likely to add some springs or spring/shock combo to tighten it up a bit more. I only have 28000 on my e46, so I think it's a decent comparo, especially since it's a sedan as well. The Ci and the i have a bit different feel anyway, making that comparo not too valid either.
I put ~2000 miles on the e90, and it unfortunately has a lot more forgiving ride, imho. I can say that it does see to have less lean in cornering though and feels equally as competent, so I'm not sure how they made the e90 feel softer yet handle like a stiffer car. certainly feels that way tho
