 BMWNA - Very Upsetting

Past two weeks, I have been told that my car is waiting at the port yada yada by BMWNA cust reps. Today one of them told me that - Today your car has reached the port of exit. I was taken aback. I told her my car was produced 2+ weeks earlier you have been telling me it is at the port of exit for so long and now you tell me that it actually reached today at the port of exit?

She says that the nets of the car seat were not available so they held back a huge block of similar cars till that part was made available and then put on.

I am very frustrated today. After having a feeling of great customer service for the past 1.5 months - now I am taking back only the feeling of being mislead and intentionally misinformed (I want to use stronger words though).

Atleast another 5 weeks

Sigh - Anyway I hope the rest of you have better luck.

Everyone who orders their cars always hounds everyone about it, and eventually get told to wait. It will come, and you will love it.

This comes with the territory of not taking a car off the lot. Patience daniel-san. You will be practicing the ways of the ultimate driving machine soon.

Things could be worse. I had two cars built (something left off the first one). When I arrived in Munich for my ED, the wrong wood was in my second car. It shouldn't happen but it does. Quality processes are becoming more rare everywhere as the years go buy. Hopefully BMW will attempt to push down an alligned customer information process to go with their new factory in construction.

You may not have been intentionally misled. The system that BMWNA Customer Service Representatives use to determine where along the production and delivery process a car is currently at is updated in Germany (or whereever else the car is being built). Hence, the Reps only read information off a screen - no one at BMWNA actually looks out of the window to tell you that the car is in the paint shop.

At the end of the day, though, just know that the wait is worth it. You already saw the benefits of ordering a car so you don't have to be sold on the idea. If it's any consolation, I didn't accept the first car I ordered which was here May 7. I am still waiting for the next one to arrive - it's at the Port awaiting a ship to hop on - so I've been awaiting my new 3 since February of this year. Who knows? Maybe our cars will be on the same boat.
