Finally got to drive the e90

My brief impressions from my first drive.

Overall nice car. Graphite Metallic/Black/ZPP/Auto.

All they had were 2 in stock both with automatics.

Looked real good in graphite.

Start/Stop button was interesting, but I think worthless unless you have Comfort Access. If I have to stick the fob in anyway, why not just turn it like a key.

Handling was nice, but like a lot of others said, didn't feel connected to the road as other previous editions. But still a joy to drive.

The Automatic, could not stand it, even in the manual mode. Tried the manual mode and after a while I had to go back to full auto. Could not get used to it.

Absolutely loved the 3 second lane change turn signal.

The power was awsome, went around someone on the interstate, car jumped from 70 to 100 before I realized it. Car seemed to just come alive.

Need to find a chance to drive a e90 330i with sport and the manual. Right now still leaning towards a e46 coupe.

Nissan has a similar system to the Comfort Access, called Intelligent Key - you never have to take it out of your pocket - cool feature.

Try sports mode auto and turn off DTC. this will give you some semblince of sports driving, but still not the silky smooth manual...

Had it for 2 months now and still not used to it. Everytime I flip the signal stub I need to think for a sec "do I want the 3-sec nudge? or full fledged turn?"..."ok, 3-sec...now..gentle..feel the resistence, don't over.....doh!...cancel! cancel!...how to cancel?..up or down??? full or nudge????? help!!!!"

I think you're over analyzing it

Most cars' turn signal levers allow you to push the lever slightly without locking it to indicate lane changes. This is not too different and essetially has two positions. The only addition is that if you do the slight push and release right away, you can get 3 automatic blinks. If you don't release it quickly and hold it in that position, it will only blink as long as you hold it (as usual). So I think you can ignore this feature completely if you want to and operate the car is if it didn't exist.

Finally, if you have iDrive, you can turn off this feature if it is REALLY bothering you.
