I drive a 325xi now and I'm quite happy with it. I drove an A4 1.8T quattro and was quite happy with that too but not as happy as with the 325, whichis why I'm going in for another BMW. i didnt drive great cars before that so for me the last 2 cars have been great to drive.
I'm trying to decide whether I should get the 330 or whether the 325 will be a big enough improvement from my 325xi. I dont care about the power seats and what I've read about 325 330 comparisons have said that the 330 is great if you you're going to drive 9/10ths or whatever.
I dont know what that means. I do know I like driving a lot; I dont think I'm a great driver but I do like taking curves at the highest speed I can manage!
It would be nice to save the money by buying a 325 but at the same time I'm going to be driving this car at least for the next 3 years (lease) so I'd like to be happy in it! The only thing that I am adding to the 330 is CWP and satellite and both those as well as premium sound for the 325.
Appreciate your suggestions and hope I'm not duplicating an earlier post. Also the 325 has a higher residual compared to the 330 (63 vs 61%) which means lower lease payments.

If the feeling of taking curves (like ramps) at high speed is what you like then both cars are equally satisfying. I test drove them both back to back. The 330 is just a little better in 2 situations:
1) quick acceleration to overtake cars between 30-60 mph (approx.) because of the higher torque.
2) Stability at high speed over 80 mph. Perhaps because of the bigger wheels that come with the sports package.
I suggest you take a test drive back-to-back and see what fits you more.

I've tested and compared both models with the manual many times. From everything you've said, you'll be more than happy with the 325, especially if you get the sport package with it. However, it still handles great even without the sport package. Also, the E90 is closer in power to an E46 330 than the E46 325.

I bought a 325 with sports package and really love it .. dont need any more power. My car came well equipped too.

If you go for sport pkg, high speed corner should be around the same with the same width of tires. E90 325i is faster than E46 325ix, not sure if it is enough acceleration different for your requirement. Beased on your post, it seems that 325i is good for you. Anyway, test drive both and make a decision.

I expect you will be fine with the 325.
reasons you might consider the 330:
1. If you are planning to really load up your 325 with stuff that is standard on the 330 (logic 7, Xenons, etc)
2. You really want the bigger wheels and/or the chrome trim
3. you drive them both and the extra power is noticable
4. your best friend was gonna tease you if you didn't get 330
for me it was all of the above
