Can anyone confirm the light clutch pedal effort (versus e46)

When I tried the 330i, the clutch was very light and the movement was much shorter than my own e46. My e46 has a somewhat heavy feel and spring-y-ness to it in comparison. Changing between the two cars, the e90 seems to require no effort. Although this change might be good in stop and go, I prefer the heavy clutch.

Are all e90s like this?

Yes, when I test drove the 330i manual, the clutch action was surprisingly japanesey.

Hmms.. I'm not sure about comparison to Japanese cars, but I almost drove a hole into the floor because I expect some heavy-duty "manly" clutch.

I don't find it any lighter at all.

Actually I take that back. It is a little lighter, but still as long. Lighter is not bad though, I still have a tired left leg after an hour drive. It's not light like a japanese car, just not heavy like a Mack truck any more. Definitely smoother too.

In conclusion, not a worse experience, a better one.

Clutch in our E90 325i is a lot softer and longer pedal travel than in our E39 528i. I hate the clutch in the 325i. It is long, no clutch stop and is too soft. In my 528i clutch is short due to clutch stop, no wasted travel and is very stiff. I prefer the 528i clutch feel to the 325i.

The 330i clutch is light and short - more so than my 97 M3 and much more so than my F-150!
