... and got the production number from my CA last Wednesday. I know the whole cycle will take at least 8 weeks, but when can I expect the car to go in production? Trying to avoid the disappointment of checking the status every day and still seeing it 'On Order'.

You can find out which WEEK your car will be in production. You can either ask your CA for it, or, if you have the production order sheet, it should have the production week on it, too. You can't really find out exactly which DATE before it is in production, WEEk is the nearest one you can find during "on-order" status.

I ordered my car on the 3rd of June and my CA gave me my production number right there.
My car starting on the 14th (yesterday) is in production.
