I was washing the car the other day and noticed no protection from the careless people who open their car door into mine. Usually there is some kind of rubber stripping or molding, not the case on my car. Is anybody else dreading the day they notice a nice dent only because there is nothing there to protect it. Lord knows everywhere my wife goes some yahoo will inevitably find her car. onebuc

My e46 inevitably had some dents, I paid twice to get that fixed and there is another one that popped up (Not very visible).
Sad fact is, no two car companies put the bands at the same height, so in the end they protect nothing.

I've read it here before to park next to another nice car. They'll be more likely to be more carefull when opening there doors. After all they want there car ding free as well.

A month after I had my car redelivered here in the States somebody at a supermarket ran a cart into the rear quarter panel putting a big dent. Fortunately it did not break or scratch the paint. I went to a dent removal place and they made my baby whole again. I have had the car for now 18 months and do not have a single dent.
My previous car was a 318ti which I owned for 7 years and it only had 3 nicks on the sides. I guess I can consider myself lucky. Though some a*hole keyed that car from front to back. Had to have the entire side of the car repainted.
