Leatherette.....
Curious what the new E90 owners with 'ette think of it?
| | Reply » Leatherette..... | I'm not a new owner (yet) and I didn't order leatherette, but I was pleasantly surprised with the look and feel of it when I sat in one at the dealer. If the premium package didn't already come w/ leather I would have seriously considered it.
| | Reply » Leatherette..... | Ill chime in, I choose Black ette for the 1st time. As luck would have it it turn 99F here the last two days. However the E90 havc system is very powerful, as well as having rear air vents now. Back to your question im very happy with it. having a k9 passenger time to time is part of the reason. It is very tough. Having said all that the Dakota leather is very nice i did not know they were upgrading from the montana. I set in a 330i Sport leather car while picking up my plates yesterday. All my coworkers like my "leather" seats, but you wont fool any one from this board or your dealer at trade in time.
Good Luck,

| | Reply » Leatherette..... | I have leather in my e46. I keep hearing all these claims that 'ette looks and feels just like leather. I actually saw it for the first time in an e90 recently. Yeh, it does look a bit like leather, no real problem there, but it feels nothing like leather imho. I was very surprised that it felt so rubbery when pulling at it and sitting/squirming around in it. It felt nasty to me after years in leather seats. It honestly felt like sitting on a rubber balloon or something. Hard to describe, but kinda 'icky'. Just mho - I'm sure 'ette owners think leather feels icky too.

Had it not been for BMW's very poor leather quality / durability, I would have it in mine.
