After waiting almost a year for the E90 to come out I was more than a little disapointed in the final product on several levels. I will say that after driving the E90 330i with performance I was ready to order and live with the stubby rear end looks, less than stellar interior and the fact I could not order certain colors or comfort access etc. etc. till september. Then I found out that a fully loaded 330i was going to lease zero down for close to $800.00!! Double my 2004 E46!! Anyway I decided to take one more look at the G35 coupe when wam! I feel into an M series car. The thing drove! cornered like a b**ch and has mondo power! The interior is stunning (Yes it has comort access type control) and even though they are not really dealing on them I manged to get a killer lease deal and before I knew it I own one and am loving it. The best part of this story is I still have my 2004 E46 (My wife has taken it over and she loves it.) I really wanted to be an all BMW family and hopefully after they sort out the 3 and 5 series issues in the next 2 years I can get back into one. Unless of course Infiniti continues there latest trend of fast fun good looking cars at a reasonable cost. Thanks for letting me share my little story - oh and please no sour grapes replys like "Yea but the M isnt this or that or my BMW..." I have heard it all before - cars are about emotion for people like us. At this point in time I like the M but i still love my 3 too!! |

Awesome new car craigsbmw! I think you've summed it up nicely - for enthusiasts, cars are an emotional purchase: you get that car that makes your gut lurch, and the M45 seems to have done the trick for you. I often wonder about "the other side" whenever I have a particular car - should I have gotten the other one instead, but then I remind myself that all sorts of new toys will be out in a couple of years and no car is permanent.

I love the new M.
Which one did you get? M35 or M45?

I just saw my first M35x on the road today-- looks great. Mainly only saw it from the back, but it looked good (esp. the quad //M style exhaust) and the 4 circular LED taillights.
Congrats!
I'm still getting my E90 though!

Hey guys thanks for ther compliments on the M!! I will still be jealous when I start seeing E90's on the road. Heck I climbed into my (Now wifes) 2004 325 today and I almost cried!! But I'll be ok. Besides this is the best (and my favorite) car website I am not going anywhere!!
Craig
P.S. I have the M35x (AWD) I hate winter but now I cant wait to see how it handles the snow.

I haven't driven the M yet but it looks pretty good. Which model M did you get?
Also, you mention an $800 monthly lease $0 down for the E90. What was your lease rate on the M so we can compare the value? I haven't purchased my E90 yet but I'm still open-minded about other cars.
