I have looked in other threads and it seems that it is still unclear what the official mile rating is on the run flat tires. Some say 12K miles is how long the tread lasts but can anyone confirm the true life-span of the run flats? (14 more days till I get my ride!) Thanks all. |

I suspect this will vary depending on what type of run-flats. Performance should be less than the all season.

Since when is there one solid mileage number that can be given for a set of tires to last? It depends on a ton of things including the way you drive and where you drive them.
Performance tires do not come with mileage guarantees that some all-season and other tires come with. You purchase the sport package knowing this hopefully so there is no room for complaints when they last less than 20K miles.

My friend has the same tires (only the non run-flat version, the RE050) on his Honda S2000 and they lasted 10K miles. They are the same treadwear and traction rating for regular and run-flat version. Of course, the S2000 is a lighter car and has slightly different tire size, but I would assume within 5K of 10,000 miles. He drives pretty hard in the S2000 too. There may be some that see 20K miles out of them.
