Taking new car on a trip..

Would you recommend taking a new E90 on a trip to vegas? I have almost 2600 miles on the car and am planning on driving to vegas over the weekend (600 miles roundtrip). I've already passed the breakin period. Should I just rent a car?

Sounds like a perfect trip. However, taking a car (any car) on a desert road trip traveling at high speeds on the highway you have to worry about damage to the front of the car due to sand/pebbles. This is a concern with any car and you need to ask people who travel that road about whether this kind of thing happens on the roads you're going to take (blowing sand, sand storms, etc).

My other concern would be a flat. The car has runflats and no spare, so if there is wheel damage, you won't be able to go anywere. So you need to have a plan on what to do on that sort of situation. E.g., whether you have BMW assist or a cell phone to call for help and whether there is wireless phone service along the way.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll take it with me.
