 iDrive and Service Data Question

Bought a E90 with iDrive on Sunday and right away noticed there was a service due red triangle in the main dash display. Scrolled through iDrive service screens and found a "maintenance due 3/2005" error message.

Figured somebody forgot to set something properly from the factory and took the car in to the dealer. They reset the error message and all is well. So last night I'm poking around all the iDrive screens and go into service screens and click on the oil change menu. This screen should show when next oil change is due. I noticed the screen says 15,000 miles (which I expected based on maintenance manual), but the date due says March 2007. Given that oil change is 15,000 (or less according to condition based service) or at least once a year, shouldn't this screen say 15,000 or March 2006??

Called dealer and they say it is functioning properly and don't have any explanation for the March 2007 date.

What do you folks think?

Is there an internal clock that is set to the wrong year maybe? This way the internal clock says it is past March of 2006, and when the dealership deletes the warning it jumps to the next service in 2007?

Just a guess, I don't know if there even is a clock seperate from the user clock. I would insist that the dealership correct this. Ask them to set up a service date for March of 2006 and see if the warning comes on again.

The dealer says no... but I was thinking the same as you. (shrug)

The regular clock in iDrive has correct time and date though.
