friday june 3rd wall street journal had an interesting review of the 3 series. they said the model to buy is the 325 not the 330 because of price and fuel economy. interestingly they point out that despite the size increase in the e90 that headroom in the front has actually been recduced as has legroom. rear dimensions have of course been increased. they said they would avoid the "spooky" active steering but would get the sport package. i agree! the 325 is the "value" choice. for most of us city drivers i am quite sure the 215 hp engine is quite adequate.

According to BMW the front headroom has slightly increased and the rear headroom is the one with the slight decrease. So I don't know where they are getting the numbers for that, I doubt they made their own.

Check the product information brochure. BMW tells you exactly which measurement is + or - compared to the E46 and by how much.

The WSJ isn't making my car payments.

car "pay-ments"?

What are these "car pay-ments" of which you speak?

Well, if Marcus is leasing, those "payments" are supposedly much greater on a 330 than they are on a 325.

But that wouldn't stop me from getting a 330 if I really wanted one.

bmw offers both models. one more economical, the other obviiously for those who want more power. my point is simply that the enthusiast crowd sometimes loses sight of the fact that not everyone is interested in huge amounts of horsepower. some people just like these cars and enjoy them evn with the smaller engines.
