I had posted earlier this week asking about the weight/height specificationsat which the front passenger airbag disables itself. BMW checked out the car and sure enough- at 5 foot 4 inches and 107 pounds, I appear to be "on the cusp." Would it really be dangerous for the airbag to be enabled for someone my size? BMW service is apparently asking for further guidance on the issue- but at least we get our car back today (The X3 loaner, by the way, also had a smart airbag in the passenger seat that disabled when I was sitting in that position, so at least it is consistent across cars!)
