On Sunday whilst pulling out from a stop, the car lost all power and the 'transmission failure' light went off, putting the car in 'safe mode'. We were able to limp to our destination in what felt like 3rd and 4th gear. Upon restarting the car everything seemed to work fine. I took the car in to the dealership today and they informed me that they will update the software from version 16.1 to 17.? I hope that this fixes the problem, but wanted t know if any others have experienced any issues with the automatics ( I have read the other post about an auto going out).
BTW, I got the crappiest 'loaner' car from my dealer "Sonnen BMW", a Kia! I have a Land Rover and Infiniti and always get a great loaner from those dealers!

Hi
When was this, there is an update available now. I wonder if there is another update as of last week.
I was told there is a repair kit for tranny failure. I was concerned about this. Did your dealer tell you that is wa a software issue or or it need a repair kit.
I was told there is a repair kit out already for the tranny - something about pressure loss.
I have the hesitation-slip at dead stand still take off - still there after a recent update

I was informed today that the transmission will have to be replaced. This will take 1 week to 10 days. They are still saying that it is a software or electronic problem, and that the electronic module is located in the transmission.

Yes, there was hesitation. I thought that it might be part of the break-in period...

Are both the 325i and the 330i affected? Or just the 330i?
