Another step or manual question . . .

Ok, if I do get an E90 when my lease is up, I would prefer to get a manual.
My current slush box is convenient, but I think these cars were meant for manual transmissions. Since I am considering buying my next car if I planned to keep it a long time, I think the slush box would probably be dead by 80k.

However: wife won't drive manual (but she may not drive any way with new turn signals.) Plus, if the thing is gremlin-ridden, it's easier to sell.

Oh, the pain . . . what should I do?

When is the lease up on your wife?

The wife problem can be solved by:

1) Promise her that she can pick the next car.
2) Get her a new jewel.
3) Convice her that driving a BMW stick is very easy. it won't slip when you start uphill.

If your wife has her own car, is it really that big a deal if she doesn't drive yours? If its not a big deal, go for the manual.

Oh COME ON! Who wears the pants in your family! Go down right the heck now and ask her what your opinion should be!

She doesn't care she's cool with it and we have a car for her. But there is a once in a while when I have to load the wagon up leaving her to fend.
