Speaker Hiss on M3 with Nav

So I take my car to the dealer for them to see if they can determine why my speakers hiss as soon as the key is turned to position 1 (radio off, still hisses). Well after playing around with it for an afternoon, they decide the problem is in the radio, so they order a new one for me.

Today they called and said that they checked with tech support and the hiss is normal....amazing that I have a 60K M3 with an $1800 nav and $700 HK upgrade, and the hiss is standard. I really couldn't believe that BMW was throwing in something for free.

I asked if I'm going to have to pay extra if the hiss got louder, but they assured me that the hiss is free as long as I own the car. What a relief.

I wonder if anyone out there with Nav and HK upgrade DOESN'T have the speaker hiss. Let me know.

Just turn up the volume on the engine!

I put a snake in the car with opposite hissing, and the sound disappeared. Kinda like balance shafts in engines.

I suggest calling BMWNA for assistance.

Mine has this same problem, I posted about it before. HK w/ Nav (330Ci though). I'll be bringing my car in soon enough, we'll see how it goes. I would have to say that their answer is unacceptable though, especially since not all cars with HK + Nav have this problem.

The dealer also said that they checked out 2 other M3's and they both had the speaker hiss.
