This is just a question to satisfy my curiosity.....A dealer told me that BMW engines come broken in from the factory. Is that so? I am looking into (actually I'v decided on) an E90 325. Also, any truth to that Acura TL thread that german manufacturers certify HP figures at drive wheels?

Read the owner's manual posted on here. There is a break in section for new owners.
2nd question - Nope. Read the website. That's 255 bhp (SAE) at whatever rpm's. Well - for the 330i. Translation - extrapolated guessitimation of hp at the crank. Read a dyno graph whenever someone posts it. That's your rwhp number (actually ponies lighting up the rear tires).

So the tranny, pumps, hoses etc etc. But who the hell knows, everybody says everything different.

Partial break in. The factory runs every 3 series through the complete shirft change, lights turn signals etc.
They ran the 330 up to 115, slowed in down, then drove it to the lot to be loaded and shipped.
