Hi guys: I picked up my 330 E90 two weeks ago, and today i got my primed, unpainted rear spoiler from Pacific BMW. I went to a local bodyshop called Sunnyvale Autobody( been known to fix bmw for 40+ years), for an estimate of painting + installation. They told me i am looking at 300 for paint and around 75 for installation. Sounds quite expensive to me Can anyone give me some ideas how much would this cost? and any recommendation on shops? I really appreatiate any responses! |

Sounds like you're looking for a shop which is (1) inexpensive and (2) good. The BMW drivers I know in the South Bay recommend B Line (is it Bee Line?) as excellent - I don't know about the inexpensive part, however.

I've heard a good way to reduce the cost of painting a single, small part is to try to coordinate your project with another the body shop is doing with the same paint. Like if a car is in and getting the whole side painted, they may sneak your spoiler into the paint booth at the same time. I think the majority of the cost is setup and buying paint.

Kuang9, is your car Sparkling Graphite? I'm in southbay also, and am "slightly" intrigued about the spoiler idea.....how much did the spoiler cost?

Hi mroctober. My car is sparking graphite. I paid around 220 total for the primed, unpainted spoiler. Your best bet is to get the painted one from Circle BMW for around 300 plus tax, will save you a lot of money on paint! i went to two shops so far, they are charing me "300" just to paint it.
