No difference in E90 body stiffness with or w/o folding rear seats

Quote:
Like that of the 5 Series, the body shell is
now the same whether or not the vehicle is
equipped with this option [Split folding rear seats] at the factory; the
seat backrest itself consists of a “hybrid” wall,
a rigid welded steel frame and plastic shell,
that is fastened to the body at four points. This
shell itself forms the bulkhead and is made in
two versions, one with a fixed backrest and
the other with this folding arrangement. The
plastic shell reduces noise transmission from
trunk to interior.

Either give me a real bulkhead without folding seats or give me folding seats standard.

I saw that and was also going to post it. Now, the folding rear seats are an easy choice (other than $!) I'm glad I went with the cold weather package, though I'd have without hesitation sacrificed a little rigidity to get warm more quickly in the winter!!

It's about time they designed the folding seats that way.
