 Burl Walnut vs. Poplar Natural

Are there any cars manufactured with same types of wood trims as in the new E90? I would like to make an ED order soon but it is difficult to decide on the type of wood if I cannot see it. The dealer couldn't give me any estimated date when they expect to have some E90 on the lot.

On the pictures from the Internet, Poplar looks way too bright (almost beige) but on the pamphlet I got from the dealer, the color is closer to the current wooden trim of E46. Unfortunately, the sample is tiny on that brochure.

Wood is just like the external color of your car... you'd better not rely on any brochures or internet pics... to choose...
The only advice I could provide is to go check that by yourself... even if you do have to go to several dealers...
That said... check also on how it looks on the e60...

Hey guys..

I have the same issue.. I'm going with the Monaco Blue ext./Grey leather int. and I can't decide between poplar & walnut trim. The aluminum is pretty cool looking IMO, but seems to be too much grey with grey leather. The walnut is a nice contrast, but the poplar looks like it would go better.

Haven't had time to get to the dealer yet, so if anyone has seen the poplar with grey leather, opinions are welcome!

Decisions, decisions...

Option C: Brushed Aluminum. I think it looks really nice.
That's what I got. I must confess that I've never much liked wood in interiors, though.

I asked the dealer yesterday if Poplar was available in any cars this year He pulled out a couple of brochures and we determined it was not. I have the same concern. The e90 brochure shows it as being dark.....almost the same as the burl walnut. But if you build your interior on the bmwusa site and click a 360 degree view of the interior, it's much lighter (that's what I'm looking for)....but no one can seem to confirm whether this is a true representation of the color.

ED e90
325i Sport Pkg
Sparkling Gray Metallic, L'ette, Poplar
Logic7, Sat, Xenon, Assist/Bluetooth

I LOVE Monaco Blue....but ordered Sparkling Graphite because I wanted the Tera interior. I was going to go with Aluminum, but just too much of it for my taste. So, had a couple glasses of Wine and went with Poplar (an unconventional choice). It is supposed to be lighter. We shall see....on May 6 or before.
