One thing the system also has in Europe, but not the US is a Traffic Alert feature. If you have it enabled, if the radio receives a traffic alert, it switches the radio to the special traffic alert channel for you to hear the update, then back to whatever you were listening to after the update. Pretty cool, but not used in the US...

2) Will it know a song from the audio input? | No - but if they give us iPod support a la the E46 setup, then you might get ID3 tags. Would be nice on any MP3 source, but I haven't tried any MP3's in an E90 yet, so don't know if it's there.
