 Winter tires?

I know it is too early. My E90 325i will equip with sport pkg and I surely will down size the tires for winter. What do you guys think down size it back to the original 205/55 16 or using the original size of 330i 225/45 17? You know, winter doesn't always has snow. Will 225 a bit too wide if it does snow?

I ran 225/17's on all four corners with LM22's. We had a lot of snow (relatively) this year and they performed just fine.

Checked out the E90 winter tires on the dealers part system today

For European 325i they are

205/55/16 Goodyear Eagle UG GW-3 or
225/50/16 Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 or
225/45/17 Bridgestone Blizzak

ofcourse they are all run-flat

Pardon me for being a bit clueless, but I've always had all season tires. 1) how is the ride quality in the sport pkg on a 330i vs. the normal suspension? 2) do you buy snow tires or snow tires and wheels? 3) where do you store them 4) how is the ride on cold dry pavement (much of our winters in Ohio are not just cold but dry).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

1) Dont' have a lot of experience with the non-SP.

2) I bought 17" M68's off a fellow fester locally and mounted LM22's on them. Makes changing summer/winter's with the season a breeze (don't forget to buy a couple wheel pins ),

3) I store them in my attic.

4) The ride on my winters is much smoother/quieter then the summers. In warmer weather I refer to them as my "squishies" since the rubber is designed to be firm (not rock) at cooler temperatures.

1) Sorry, don't have experience with non-sport pkg.
2) Snow tires and wheels.
3) Garage.
4) 4 seasons are more quiet and comfort than performace and winter tires.

Just fyi...the performance tires are only good for temperature above ~7C. So, you need 4 seasons or winter tires during winter even there is no snow if you use performance tires in the summer.
