tire / alignment help in NJ

Hey does anyone know of any good shops in NJ (preferably North NJ) that would 1) redo my alignment for a good price but 2) I could bring in 4 tires from TireRack and they would install them on my wheels for me.

Thanks in advance,
Marek

Didn't Tire Rack give you a list of places that you could get you tires mounted and balanced???? Usually they do alignments.
cheers

Used STS Tire & Auto on North Maple Ave in Ridgewood for winter tires from Tirerack and was satisfied. They used torque sticks and got the right torque.

IMO torque sticks are a joke or they didn't know how to use them. When I had my tires mounted and checked the torque it was 102 ft.lbs. and it should have been 83-93. most set it at 88.

Tirerack has a list of recommended installers. They also have the option to ship the tires directly there. Check it out and pick one - NJ is pretty big, I mean you don't want to drive two hours to get to a tire place.

I used to work near Morristown, and used a small shop in Madison - right on the main street (I think the name was Dorrik). Since I went through a bunch of flat tires over 3 years I kind of became a regular . They did great job with the installation, although I never had an alignment done. All the tires were from Tirerack, and I actually 1st found the place on their list

Plus or minus ten to fifteen % is no BFD, Vern (you always want to err on the side of *overtightening* just a tad)....what you want to avoid are shops where their gorillas are too effen lazy to change the torque settings on their big-ass CP impact wrenches after removing the lugs, and tighten `em back up with the gun set to SIX HUNDRED ft. lbs. ....

Regards,
Bob
