OK, so I finally convince my wife that the new 3 is an awesome car (she wanted the X3), but she insisted on choosing the color combo. She wanted black exterior with tan leatherette/wood. She didn't care for the SP either so I told her that we would go with her colors. I would have gone for the grey color (MSG???) with black interior. Who else out there had to compromise with their significant other?

Wellllll.... I made a comprimise with myself. I got the green light to get an M3 (or S4) this time around. We even went together to test drive them. I didn't particulary like the S4 that much, and with two kids (10 and 13), I decided I couldn't be that selfish to get a two door. I went with an e90 instead.

We bought exactly what my wife wanted in a Toyota minivan and I bought a six speed ZHP equipped E46 330i last summer.
Seriously, you did fine. Marriage is about how you spend your time, how you spend your money, who does what work, and to be sweet when you disagree. Any 3 series is a great ride. Black is a little harder to keep clean, so she needs to know you expect her help on the weekly washings (that she could have skipped out of with white or silver) because she picked out the color. Good reason for togetherness and a private wet t-shirt contest on a hot summer day. You can love the car, but only the wife will love you back.

I actually got my first BMW because it is a better family car than either of my Corvettes were. Once we had a child I went to the sedan. I wish that was the worst comprimise I had to make.

We're getting an E90 for her. My only request was not to get the auto this time. Guess what tranny we're getting-auto.
