Some time go I was test-driving 2005 325i and 330i at the dealership. I noticed that 330i had much louder engine than 325i and "deeper" sound (closer to diesel). I remember it had a sports package. Could it be the reason?
I am planning to buy E90 soon and I must admit that I don't like too loud engine. So I am hesitating whether I should go with 325i or 330i and whether there would be any difference in the engine noise for E90 (since both are 3.0L). I prefer more comfortable drive than sporty (that's why I am not planning to order SP). And yes, I really want BMW not Lexus
I also like better performance of 330i so I am in a dillemma... What do you recommend?

ZHP versions of the 330 have a 'tuned' exhaust that is more throaty so to say...I bet it will be toned down for the E90 so go with the 330! If you decide to go with the 325 DO NOT test drive the 330...

My ZHP is louder than a 'normal' 330 but it is not bad at all...whenever I pull into my underground garage at my office, I roll my windows down more to hear the exhaust better!
