My wife drives a 1997 740I she got init the other day and the ac did not work. I checked it out and the heat does not work either. The unit lights up all the displays are corecct when you press the button to switch from say your feet to defrost you hear it switch as if it did the switch but no air comes out from any where on the car nothing. I check the fuse under the hood and it appears fine. Its hot and so is she anyone help me

It screws up the fan speeds. Its a relatively cheap part but you do have to tear into the dash so I'd recommend taking it to a dealer or an independent shop.

Is there a way to test that that is it before taking a part the dash? Where in the dash is it located and what is the easy way to go at getting to it.

I can't help there. Mine failed under warrenty and was replaced by the dealer.

I had the same thing happen. In my case, it was the blower motor.
