You can if you have a tow truck and it wasn't a flatbed. In Philadelphia last week we watched from our restauarant as a tow truck pulled up behind a new 7 series, hooked up his lift under the rear axle and was gone with it in about 2 minutes. And it was legal, the poor owner was at a movie across the street and time had expired on the meter...we watched the cop right the ticket and call the "thief" (That's what they are, sorry). A valet park guy stood right next to it as all this happened. On the way back to our hotel I asked him why he didn't put some change in the meter and got this response: "It's not my job to keep some rich SOB from having his car towed". So now I know how much it costs to be a good guy or an asshole...25 cents.

Typical Philadelphia, NE attitude. Very few nice people left in the north...

But that valet guy probably appreciates the tips he makes, especially if those "rich SOB's" are tipping well. Hell, the guy on the recieving end of it may have thanked him more than the 25 cents, I know I would have. What goes around comes around. I've seen it happen too many times to believe it doesn't happen.

Did the guy valet his car for him? If not why is the valet responsible for feeding his meter? I'm confused?!?!
I'm not putting a quarter in some random person's meter. It's actually illegal to do so.

That is precisely why one puts extra quarters in the meter when one doesn't want their machine towed incorrectly.
All things considered, it is the owner who is the ass.
