Here's my theory on why the 325i is getting the 3.0L - because they are going to bring over the 130i 5 door as a surprise, and don't want to offend 325i owners!

I think Americans care more about the size of their engine than how fast the car is. Why else does a 160 hp V6 outsell a 200 hp four?
