Amber indicators
Hi Everyone
I saw some photos of the E90 on GermanCarfans.com with Amber indicators. Is this some US spec for the E90 or does any body have more info on this. I stay in SA and ordered mine but could not choose those as an option. I think it would look awesome with Arctic.
Cheers

Their reasoning is that by seeing the amber turn signal during the day (even when the light is off), another driver can quickly recognize which end is the front of the car and which way it's heading. Personally I've always relied on the actual motion of the vehicle but that's the law.
A whole lot of folks in the US have actually taken to "blacking out" their turn signals where they remove the amber component so our lights don't have the amber look. The procedure varies by vehicle and it usually envolves a bit of destruction of the light housing. You also run the risk of getting a ticket for having blacked out lights but cops generally look the other way with such things although it's never a good idea to give them a free excuse to pull you over and write a ticket.
It's interesting that you think it looks neat and different while a lot of folks here dream of having blacked out lights like most of the rest of the world. I personally think lights without the amber lights look much cleaner but I guess the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.
