I realize this has been a controversy with the new E90. A poster had mentioned that the E90 was about the same dimension as the original 5 series, and I just so happened to look at an old review of my '85 E28 535i. The length is 189 inches, width 66.9 inches, height 55.7 inches, and weight 3230lbs. The wheelbase is 103.3 inches. In looking at the E90, although the length is only is 178 and 11 inches shorter, the front bumpers on my E28 must account for at least 8-10 of those inches. And wow the E90 is 71.5 inches wide, almost 5 inches wider than the 5-series. The height is about the same, but the wheelbase of the 5 series is 5 inches shorter and it weighs almost 200lbs lighter. I am waiting to purchase a E90 to replace my 5 series. It looks like almost an equal swap in terms of size. I hope the back seat has the same amount of room. Just thought this was an interesting comparison.
