I posted this in the Tire/Wheel forum, but hadn't gotten any replies so I thought I would post here--if that's a problem, then go ahead and lock or move the thread

I've been looking at the General Exclaim tires on tirerack.

I would really like to get a set, but I'm not quite sure if they will fit properly.

I have my front end all figured out, but my wheels are staggered, which makes it a little tricky

In back, I'm running 18x9.5. Ideally, I would get 255/35/18--but that size doesn't come in General Exclaim. Would 245/40/18 work on a 18x9.5 wheel? I realize that it would probably be about a half-inch taller... but would it still work out, or is this a major no-no?
