335i TT engine comming to X5 in 2008?

Planning on getting X5 this fall. Would like to know if the base X5 is going to get the 300hp engine, just like the 335i and 535i?

Very unlikely that the base X5 will stray from its current engine. The average base X5 buyer doesn't need the extra hp and doesn't want the potential extra maintenance that turbos bring. I also doubt the X5 even getting the N54 as small displacement gasoline turbo motors aren't great for heavy vehicles because they spend too much time in boost, generating heat.

I heard it will not happen due to towing issues.

No plans for the bi-turbo in anything other than the 3 series and 5 series. Its possible to be included in the upcoming 1 series in 2009, but this is unconfirmed. X5 will stay normally aspirated, as it always has. It has a V8, theres no need for FI.
