2008 v 2007: how long would you wait?

Here is my dilemma:

I am moving from Italy to Hawaii, probably in October. I intend to order an E93 335i through the Military Sales Program (MSP) for direct-delivery to Hawaii. I might be able to get a mid-summer build date and get a 2007 car in October, I can definitely get a September build date and get a 2008 car in December.

Pricing through the MSP is fixed, so I expect the discount off stateside MSRP to stay about the same. (About $2400 after shipping fees)

The big question: Should I get an end-of-year 2007 or a beginning-of-year 2008?

Thanks,

Fred

PS For those familiar with the MSP: Yes, I know that I could save more money by taking delivery here, letting the military pay for the shipping when I move, and avoid sales tax because it will be a used car when I register it. However, Naples, Italy is not known for "gentle wear and tear" and I'd rather have the car make it to the US in one piece.
